Overview
This extended version of the classic route adds a night on the shores of the salt flat at sunset and a slower pace through the volcanic Altiplano. You visit Laguna Hedionda, the Stone Tree in the Siloli desert, Laguna Colorada and the Sol de Mañana geysers.
On the final morning the group crosses the Hito Cajón border and continues downhill to San Pedro de Atacama, a perfect link between two of South America's great desert destinations.
