Who is responsible for your data
South Explorer (“we”) operates the southexplorer.com marketplace and is the data controller for the information collected on this site and in our portals. Each operator that runs an experience you book also receives the data it needs to provide the service and becomes responsible for its own use of that data.
For any privacy question, write to [email protected].
What we collect
Booking data: name, email, phone, country, number of travelers, special requests and the details of the trip you request.
Payment data: payments are processed by our payment providers (such as Stripe or Mercado Pago). We receive the payment status and reference, never your full card number.
Account data for agencies and operators: company details, team members and their roles.
Usage data: pages visited, device and approximate location derived from the IP address, collected through essential cookies and server logs.
How we use it
To process and manage your booking, share it with the operator and send you confirmations, payment links and trip information.
To provide the agency and operator portals, prevent fraud and keep the platform secure.
To send our newsletter, only if you subscribe. Every email includes a link to unsubscribe.
To meet legal obligations, such as tax and accounting records.
International transfers
Operators are located in different Latin American countries and some of our providers process data outside your country. We only transfer data with adequate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Booking and payment records are kept for the period required by tax and consumer law (in Argentina, up to ten years). Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Account data is kept while the account is active.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, update or delete your data, or object to its use, by writing to [email protected]. In Argentina, the Agency for Access to Public Information (AAIP), as the enforcement authority of Law 25,326, handles complaints about the protection of personal data.
Changes
We will publish any change on this page with its date. If a change is significant, we will notify registered users by email.
