Overview
South of the Pantanal, the limestone springs around Bonito feed rivers so transparent that visibility often exceeds 30 metres. After a short forest walk to the source, you slip into the water with mask and wetsuit and let the gentle current carry you downstream.
Shoals of dourado and piraputanga swim at eye level among swaying aquatic plants. A guide floats with the group and controls the number of visitors per day, keeping the river pristine.
