Overview

The Pati Valley sits deep inside Chapada Diamantina National Park, ringed by sandstone mesas and reachable only on foot. This traverse links old diamond-miner trails from Lençóis to the valley floor and out via the Capão side, covering around 70 km.

Each night you stay with one of the few families still living in the valley, eating home-cooked Bahian food. Days bring swims in river pools, the Cachoeirão viewpoint and the climb to Morro do Castelo's cave.
