Overview

From the hippie village of Vale do Capão, a steady two-hour climb brings you onto the plateau above one of Brazil's tallest waterfalls. The water falls so far that wind often blows it back up as smoke, giving the falls their name.

You lie flat on the rock ledge to look straight down the 340 m drop, then return by the same trail with stops for lunch and views across the Capão valley.
