Overview
Corcovado protects the largest remaining lowland rainforest on the Pacific coast of the Americas. This trek enters from La Leona and follows beaches, river mouths and jungle trails to Sirena ranger station, deep inside the park.
Two nights at Sirena allow dawn and night walks, the best moments to see tapirs, all four Costa Rican monkey species, scarlet macaws and, with luck, a puma crossing the beach. Licensed guides are mandatory in the park and lead the group throughout.
