Overview
Leave early from colonial Valladolid on flat country roads through henequén fields and Maya villages. The route links three very different cenotes — one open to the sky, one half-cave and one deep underground — with time to swim in each.
After a home-cooked lunch with a Maya family, a short van ride takes you to the Ek Balam ruins, where you can still climb the main pyramid for a view over the forest canopy.
