Overview

This is the gravity-assisted way to see the Colca Valley. A van climbs to the Patapampa pass, the highest point of the trip, and from there you freewheel down long switchbacks past vicuñas, volcanoes and Inca-era terraces.

The night is spent in a farm lodge near Yanque, with a soak in the hot springs. On day two you ride the canyon road to the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint before returning to Arequipa.
